Qualifications Should Include
- Diploma in dog training
- Minimum one year experience in dog training
- History of dog ownership
Responsibilities for Dog Trainer
- Able to assess and identify problem behaviors and training methods for each individual dog. Capable to train any dog effectively.
- Decide the best training option for the dog and the owner and able to create a training plan for the dog
- Able to train private one on one sessions with the owners, board and train dogs and group classes
- Educate dog owners about dog care, behavior and their dogs ongoing training needs
- Understand an owner’s needs and concerns. Be able to train the dogs and their owners to a high standard and promote good dog behavior in a welcoming and understanding environment.
- Excellent communicating skills
- A good problem solver
- Willing to be flexible with work hours (weekends & evenings when required depending on the work schedule and seasonality)
- Strong work ethics
- Able to multitask
- Follow specified training program outlines
- Good customer service – Responding to enquiries and following up with existing clients.
- Maintains professional demeanor at all times
- Able to work as part of a team and help to build other team members abilities and morale
- Good computer skills. Able to complete training reports for owners and to management
- Participating in center events
