Qualifications Should Include
- A passion for animals and animal care, especially dogs. Willing to learn
- Focuses on safe and gentle handling of animals.
- Customer Service Oriented – Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures. Responds promptly to customer needs and assistance and able to handle conflict with diplomacy.
- Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays where necessary, depending on seasons and kennel schedule.
- Good communication skills – Able to communicate well with others, both clients and team
- Fit and healthy – Job requires walking, sometimes running, standing and being alert at all times.
- Good team work and willingness to assist other areas as necessary
- Computer literacy is helpful
Responsibilities are to ensure that all pet guests are comfortable and happy to include:
- Walk dogs on leash to and from exercise areas, or for walks within the compound as requested.
- Engage in play activities with pets including: fetch, exercise walks, chase, agility, or simply spending time and offering affection.
- Supervise activities of multiple dogs throughout the day
- Maintain a sanitary and healthy environment by following our standards of cleaning and hygiene
- Follow all our standards of safety with regards to handling pets
- Preparation of food and feeding dogs, topping up clean water and sanitization of food and water bowls.
- Assisting in other areas when and where required
